Privacy · Lampstead Lock

This policy covers Lampstead Lock for iPhone and Android, published by Montgomery Appworks LLC in Oklahoma. Its subtitle is Pray Before You Scroll. The bundle ID is com.montgomeryappworks.lampsteadlock. Lampstead, the Bible app, is at lampstead.app.

Everything stays on your device

Lampstead Lock has no servers and no Lampstead Lock backend. Nothing the app stores is sent to us. That includes the apps or categories you chose to lock, unlock history, streaks, scroll budget, prayer and verse history, and settings. On iPhone, the apps or categories you lock are opaque Apple tokens, so we never see the app names.

Optional email

Onboarding can ask for an email address. That step is optional and asks for your explicit consent. In v1 the address is stored only on the device and is never sent. We may later use it to send a daily-verse email, and only to people who opted in.

iPhone Screen Time

On iPhone, Lampstead Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time APIs: FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity. They run on the device. Apple does not share usage data with us.

Android usage access and accessibility

On Android, Lampstead Lock uses Usage Access (UsageStats) and an AccessibilityService. It uses them only to detect when a locked app opens and to show the prayer screen. It does not read screen content, typing, or messages. The app shows a prominent disclosure before it asks for either permission.

Purchases

Lampstead Lock Pro is purchased through Apple or Google via RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts. There is no account in v1.

A future option may let you sign in with an existing Lampstead account to share a Lampstead Collection subscription. That would be disclosed here when it is added.

What we don’t use

Lampstead Lock has no third-party analytics, no ad SDKs, no App Tracking Transparency tracking, and no crash-reporting SDK. It does not use AI. We do not sell data. The prayers are hand-curated and Scripture-based. The Bible text is the World English Bible, which is public domain.

Notifications

Optional local notifications can show a daily verse and a reminder before a free trial ends.

Children

Lampstead Lock is not directed at children under 13. It is for teens 13 and older, and for adults.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device. We do not keep a copy, because there is no Lampstead Lock backend. Purchase records are held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it.
