Delete your data · Ebenwell

If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or contact your local emergency services (911 in the US). Ebenwell is a spiritual support tool from Montgomery Appworks LLC. It is not medical or mental-health care.

Ebenwell, from Montgomery Appworks LLC, has no accounts. There is no account to delete. Everything the app stores is kept on your device, and you can erase it yourself at any time.

There is no account

Ebenwell does not ask you to sign up or sign in, and it does not ask for your email. Montgomery Appworks LLC does not run a server that holds your streak, check-ins, urge log, journal, accountability contacts, reading log, or reflections. We have no copy of them to delete.

Delete everything in the app

  1. Open Ebenwell and go to More › Settings.
  2. Scroll to the “Your data” card.
  3. In the field “Type DELETE to erase this device,” type DELETE in capital letters.
  4. Tap Delete all my data.

This erases all of the app's data on that device right away: your streak and start date, check-ins, onboarding answers, urge log, journal, accountability contacts, reading log, weekly reflections, settings, PIN and app lock, reminders, the journal encryption key, and the streak seal. It cannot be undone. If you want a copy first, use Export in the same card to save a JSON file.

Uninstalling also deletes it

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device. On iPhone or iPad, press and hold the Ebenwell icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. On Android, open Settings, then Apps, then Ebenwell, and tap Uninstall.

On Android, if device backup is turned on, a Google device backup can hold a copy of the app's storage so a streak can survive a phone change. The journal key is never in that backup, so a backed-up journal stays unreadable. To remove that copy too, delete the backup in your Google account's backup settings, or run Delete all my data before the next backup.

Deleting data does not cancel Ebenwell Plus

Your subscription is billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Erasing your data or deleting the app does not cancel it. To stop being charged, including during a 7-day free trial:

The app also shows these steps under More › Settings › How to cancel. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records and handle refunds under their policies. Our subscription processor, RevenueCat, holds only an anonymous app user id and purchase state, with no name or email.
